DSA Registered Fleet Driver Training and Risk Assessments
Corporate manslaughter Act 2008

Firms which fail to ensure staff drive safely in their company car are likely to be a prime target for new Corporate Manslaughter legislation. Police will check that staff are properly insured, have an MoT test for their vehicles and have a valid driving license. They will also check that managers are not making excessive demands on employees by forcing them to drive when tired. The Metropolitan Police is one of several forces who are seriously investigating the safety of driving in company cars. Superintendent Mark Bird, from the Metropolitan Police's Traffic Unit said: "More and more we carry out follow-up investigations with companies after collision to ensure that work-related road safety is embedded within company policy." *Act affects all vehicles used for work - under Health and Safety Law employers must make sure that work equipment is suitable for its intended use, so far as health and safety is concerned, and that it is properly maintained and used. This means that organisations are negligent if they don't ensure that both employees and vehicles (including private ones) are fit to be on the road.

Fleet Driver Training Course can reduce all three of these issues.

We do not believe in waiting for a collision to take place before acting. Our aim is stop the collisions from happening in the first place! This means all your employees who 'drive for work purposes' are involved in your program.

We have experience in delivering highly effective fleet driver training programmes in the corporate sector for small and large companies.

We will adopt a client-focused approach to the design & delivery of your fleet driver training course, working closely with each driver as well as your company.

Our Fleet Driver Trainers are experts in the field of road safety and have a proven track record of success in helping to reduce the risk to individual drivers and help in managing the stress experienced behind the wheel for many company drivers.

Statistics show that 1 in every 3 road accidents involve a company vehicle. With modern fleet driver training methods it is possible for companies to vastly reduce the number of their fleet vehicles involved in these crashes.

Our fleet driver training courses are designed to improve driver awareness and responsibility. Assisting the fleet driver to improve their observation and hazard perception skills will allow greater time to anticipate and react to changing hazards.

Standard 1 Day Course Duration 8 hours (typically 9.00am to 5.00pm) Training Ratio 1:1 or 2:1

The typical structure of this course would be:-

The best ratio for this course is 1:1 The delegate then has the undivided attention of the trainer all day. They get a considerable amount of training, and plenty of opportunity to put it into practice on a wide variety of road types, and have the skills being developed finetuned and corrected as appropriate. The course does still work reasonably well with a 2:1 ratio, but there is obviously less time available for each delegate. A written report will be provided, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, a risk assessment, and any recommendations regarding further training.

Course Fees 6 or 7 Risk Presentation & Driver Assessments in 1 Day (6 or 7 times 1 hour) £200.00
